As the rapid development of the social media network, the way how people make their public social media profile become diversification. People use social media for making friends, absorbing information online and for working connection. No matter what we are using social media for, we are supposed to build up our personal profiles. In this article, I will discuss the way how I create my own online identity.
I will always use my selfies as my profile icons in any social media platform, it is because this will make people recognise you better and feel the inner confident that you have.

I regard social media platform as a tool to make my friends, my classmates and even the persons who are willing to know me or getting closer to me have a comprehensive knowing about me and who I am, so I will post anything that can reflects my characteristics and personalities such as what I’m doing, what I have eaten or some thoughts I come up with. I standing on my side trying to spread my understanding and love to this world and hoping it can get supports from my followers or even any critical comments, I’m open minded and accept whatever people think about me. I keep close relationships with my friends and followers by share some interesting content and making comments on the contents that they post, or repost some of their posts that I enjoy with as well. In this way mutually engage with my ‘audience’, increasing the closeness between me and my followers. According to the Joanne Sweeney(2018), ‘When followers talk to you in messages and comments, try to answer back often and personally’. This means that you’re paying much attention and care about keeping open communication channels with your followers base. Be kind and appreciative of their comments and do your best to answer their questions. Nothing kills a following like talking to a brick wall, but a little delay is safe as long as you set a standard response interval. Followers will appreciate that you’re willing to take the time to respond to social media messages and your following will get stronger as people feel more a connection to the individual. All I did is to build affinity among the followers so that I can delivery my contents to them and make them believe me. I have been following and interacting with Hip hop singers all the time and be a small member in the community. I make my own music, so for promoting my music, I will follow and repost other artists’ songs. Internet is a place that people help each other to grow faster, artist’ may go to listen to my music when they see that I’ve repost, comment there music and it has chance for them to into my music type and also repost and promote it for me. This is the secret that in the social media platform, we can rely on someone who has a bigger flow to help us make a clearer online identity and stable public relations towards aiming public.
In summary, social media has led us to a brand new era. People not only live in the old real world but involved data world as a part of their reality. So it is important for us to build our online identity in a sustainable and suitable way. We have to connect the business to the colourful internet world, so we have to decorate ourselves with a clear profile that could make our friends and followers know us better so that they will help us grow in the future development. Online identity is not only about an introduction of a person, but a demo of a mastered music product, you should make it clear what people can get from you and what you are able to bring to the public. I hope everyone could have a nice career in is new era.
